About Us
Our Mission.
Ignite On Wheels is an Austin-based collective of roller skating artists, educators, and performers dedicated to advancing the art and culture of roller skating. Through performances, classes, and creative collaborations, we bring the rhythm, expression, and joy of skating to our community.
Our mission is to ignite passion and creativity, celebrate movement as an art form, and grow the cultural legacy of roller skating through innovative entertainment and arts-driven programming. From teaching the fundamentals of balance and rhythm to choreographing high-energy shows, we create experiences that inspire movement, connection, and self-expression.
Many of our students, teachers, and performers describe roller skating as their therapy, their church, or their playground. Roller skating is more than a skill — it’s a safe space, a creative outlet, and a way to build meaningful community on wheels.
Our Story
Ignite On Wheels was founded by Jackie, a lifelong skater who first laced up as a child and never looked back. Skating unknowingly became her sanctuary — a place to stay grounded, stay out of trouble, and stay inspired. She competed internationally as an athlete, found work professionally during travel, and upon moving to Austin in 2021, she set out on a mission: to create space for others to experience the same sense of freedom, artistry, and empowerment that skating gave her.
That mission grew into Ignite On Wheels — a team of passionate, local roller skaters who share a love for performance, community, and culture. Whether we're teaching a beginner how to skate for the first time or dazzling a crowd with a choreographed routine, everything we do rolls back to joy, connection, and creative expression.
Our Collective & What We Do
Ignite On Wheels works with a talented network of independent roller skating artists, teachers, and collaborators — each bringing their own flavor, skill, and story to the rink. Together, we roll with purpose, passion, and a deep respect for the legacy and future of skate culture.
